HHSD Hits a High Note Showcasing Music in Our Schools

This month has unfolded like a masterful symphony, resonating throughout our district with the harmonious melodies of our talented students. From the youngest elementary performers to the seasoned high school musicians, our music programs have taken center stage, proudly displaying the extraordinary skills and dedication of our young talents. Our elementary and middle school music trips have not only provided invaluable experiences but have also offered platforms for our students to showcase their talents in competitive settings.

We publicly recognized the outstanding achievements of several individuals at our last Board meeting. Among the honored are students handpicked for the esteemed Montgomery County Honors Band, a testament to their exceptional musical abilities and dedication. These students included Brenden Craven, Carter Foster, Mary Kate Sweeney, Sadie Van Tassel, Giovanna Costa, Michael Duarte, Kaisa Millar, Anthony Ramos Calderon, Alex Allemang, Emily Murray, Rylan Nellett, Olivia Nguyen, Luca Olson, Morgan Rafferty, Ondine Van Tassel, Miles Verdeur, and Leah Whittaker. Additionally, we celebrated Anthony Ramos Calderon, an 11th-grade student, for his selection to participate in the prestigious 2024 PMEA District 11 Chorus, highlighting his unwavering commitment to the performing arts. Let us continue to nurture and support the musical endeavors of our students as they inspire us all with their remarkable talents.
